 Assyrian Women Union in Erbil visited two villages near Erbil and helped "Displaced Families" with heaters and blankets - funding by individual donors in Germany. AWU bought and distributed these things.

We are now in winter and the air is coldin the region. The displaced here had left their homes and all they had, they only have with them a bag of clothes only and no more, so they need anything be offered to them.
- So we view that the provision of oil stove (heater) and blankets at this time is appropriate and very necessary for the displaced.
- Location assistance (Koysanjaq and Armuta) are villages located on the road to Arbil and Sulaymaniyah
- Number of displaced families (Christians) in the two villages 100 family.
- number of oil heaters (100) each family one.
- Number of blankets (200) each family (2) blankets.

Dear Father Horst,
Here is a brief report of our project of helping displaced families.
On Friday 22/2/2008 a committee includes ( Galeta, Nany,Lidia and Mr Oder Marbin from Armota ) went to towns of Koysenjak, Armota 70 km away from Erbil, which belongs to city of Suliemania.
We went to give 80 displaced families the aid which was oil heaters and blankets. Mrs. Galeta AWU secretary gave a short bidding welcome with the attendance and informed the displaced families who send the aid for them, so they send their thanks and regards for you.
We also as AWU thank you so much for this support .We were very happy when we saw the smile and happiness on the face of these families men and women, hopping all the best for you, God bless you for your donation to our people.
We as AWU are ready for each humanitarian project which will help and serve our poor people in homeland. Best regards for all of you.
